Ten years ago, Staff of Hope built and opened Oloile Secondary School in Kenya.  What started as an open, dusty land with a few acacia trees, has now grown into one of the most respected schools in the area with many graduates going on to receive a degree beyond high school.

Over the past ten years, our school has had to overcome many challenges:  traditions that discourage girls attending school, droughts, even elephants who visit wanting to eat some of our green grass and plants.  With each adversity we have overcome, God has blessed us with successes so that this school glorifies Him while providing an opportunity to “Learn and Shine” as is stated in the school motto.

As 2017 comes to an end, Oloile Secondary School has 126 students (boys & girls) who are preforming well and who are dreaming about their future.  In October 2017, Staff of Hope was able to open a new boy’s dorm.  This new facility can easily hold seventy boys and will allow them to have a clean, safe home during the school year.  The girls are still enjoying their dorm under the care and guidance of Kristine.  This year we also improved the electricity supply to the school, planted grass and plants, finished onsite faculty housing for two families (as pictured below), hired some new teachers, and of course, taught the students with high standards so they may take another step forward for their future.
